Tile installation: membrane, tile and grout timeline
Plan the job around separate working, recoat, exposure and service milestones. The exact clock comes from the product you actually use.
Project sequence
- Prepare the substrate and apply the specified membrane or setting material.
- Wait until tile can be installed when the system states a delay.
- Observe the grout-ready interval before filling joints.
- Keep the assembly dry for the specified interval.
- Use the system’s flood-test or water-exposure milestone before service.
Do not add the times blindly: Some milestones run from initial application while others begin after a later coat or step.
