ANSWER FIRST
How long does spray paint take to dry?
Many spray paints become touch-dry in 10 to 30 minutes and handle-ready in roughly an hour, but recoating rules and full cure vary sharply. Some must be recoated within one hour or only after 24 to 48 hours.
The products sampled from the catalog span 10 min to 1 hour for the relevant milestone. That range is a reason to identify the exact product—not a universal waiting-time estimate.
The milestone matters more than whether it feels dry

The mistake most likely to ruin this job
Applying another coat in the forbidden middle of a recoat window. That can soften or wrinkle the earlier coat even though it feels dry.
What can change the wait?
Questions people ask
Why did my spray paint wrinkle?
A common cause is recoating outside the permitted window, although heavy coats, incompatible coatings and cold conditions can also contribute.
Can I clear-coat spray paint after an hour?
Only when both products allow it. Check the color coat’s recoat window and the clear coat’s compatibility directions.
Why can the actual time be longer?
Temperature, humidity, airflow, coating thickness, surface porosity, mixing and product age can all affect drying or curing. Manufacturer times normally assume stated baseline conditions.
Which time should I follow?
Use the current label or technical data sheet for the exact product, formula and region. A similarly named product may have a different schedule.
